How to donate goods for our kennels, catteries or Charity Shops

Donating pre-loved and second hand clothes, household bric-a-brac, books and pet items really does help! Our bustling Charity Shops and online eBay store can make use of any good quality items, with all profits going towards animal care at the Home.

You can drop items off to Bath Cats and Dogs Home – there is a donation area near to the car park open from 9am - 5pm every day. You can also give items directly to our Charity Shops – see below for all details on the Shops.

Make your donations worth 25% more!

Bath Cats and Dogs Home can claim Gift Aid tax relief of 25p on every pound we sell from your donations - even those you have given in the past four years!

That means, if we sell your donated t-shirt for £5, we get the £5 from the buyer plus £1.25 from the government - at no cost to you. You just need to be a UK tax payer.

We need you to fill in a short form  » Click here to go to the Gift Aid for donations form

And then  please put your name and postcode with any donations you give so we can match them up.

FAQs

There are a few regular questions about specific donations below...

Donating bedding

We DO NOT take pillows or duvets. We would LOVE towels and blankets!

Donating pet items

We welcome new and nearly-new pet items. Things that would be useful include dog harnesses, pet beds and blankets, cat scratching posts, toys and coats. You could also see what we need in the Amazon Wishlist (see below).

Donating pet treats

We accept all treats except for rawhide chews. We use 'squeezy cheese' for muzzle training and always welcome donations of this.

Donating pet food

Food nutrition is very important to an animal's health and behaviour, so we have a set diet for all our animals. We have arranged trade deals to get the most for our money when we buy food in, so the best way to help us feed our animals is to donate money. However, you will find some requests on our Amazon Wishlist (below). Any donations of pet food we are unable to use will be shared with local foodbanks and other rescues to help as many animals in need as possible.
