Have you thought about fostering one of our dogs?
Thinking of joining our fosterer volunteers? We spoke to Zoe, one of our new dog fosterers, about why she chose to foster and how it is going with her foster dog Buttercup.
“Fostering a dog is something I'd always considered, so jumped at the chance. Plus our dog Ziggy loves having other dogs around the house.
Being a part of a dog's rehoming journey is rewarding. In Buttercup's case, we have been able to watch her improve medically, but the best thing has been to see her trust in us grow by the day. We struggled to get her through our front door when she first arrived due to her nervousness, but she's now become a confident little lady who roams around our home like she owns the place. It’s lovely to see!
You’ve got to be prepared that you’re very likely to fall completely in love! But it's possible to do so without having them permanently, and it's so worth it when you know that there will always be more dogs and cats that need a loving foster home!”
It’s surprising just how much a foster placement can help both dogs and cats. Being in a home environment gives them a chance to blossom.
If you live within a 30 minute drive, if you are an animal lover who has the time to give a dog that is struggling with kennel life, a nursing mum and her puppies, or a dog with medical issues who is waiting for their forever home, then we would love to hear from you!
