A special story to celebrate the start of National Pet Month
Back in 2016, after being introduced to their match, the Williams' family didn't hesitate in adopting one of our older dogs. Soon, on the 10th April (the date she came to Bath Cats and Dogs Home, so they call that the date of her re-birthday), she will celebrate her 17th birthday!
"At 10 years old, Mabel was classed as a senior but she had clearly not read the instructions on how to be one. She was our little pocket rocket.
A number of years ago we had a family of foxes move into our garden. Not a typical terrier behaviour but they became Mabel's friends. One would come up to the back door and wait for Mabel to go out and they would play together.
Even now she still adores her walks and has the 'zoomies' when she sees her harness. She became deaf a few years ago but we have taught her some sign language to help her.
We, her guardians, have had some pretty hard times over the years but she has been our life saver. She has been and still is a real character who never fails to make us laugh daily.

She is the most wonderful elderly lady and hope this will encourage others looking to adopt to consider a senior. They still have so much love to give."
Thank you so much to the Williams' family for sharing Mabel's story with us!
