Dog Behaviour Assessor

We have an exciting opportunity to come and join our team. Dog Behaviour Assessors (BAs) are responsible for managing and objectively assessing all incoming dogs to the rehoming centre. You will identify, manage and control potential risks, devise care and training plans and generate rehoming criteria. You will also assist the Animal Care team with the day-to-day husbandry and training of the dogs in our care.

Here at BCDH, we are committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs in need, and as one of our Behaviour Assessors you will have the opportunity to work with dogs by providing care, training and support under the direction of the Training and Behaviour Manager.

You must have a recognised animal care qualification, and experience working with dogs, preferably in a rescue kennel environment.

It is a busy and challenging role, and you will be dealing with some of the tougher aspects of animal rescue alongside the joyful transformations and adoptions. We aim for excellence in animal welfare, and have a close knit team who support each other to give the best chance of success for the animals in our care.
